Reverend Doctor Green Moore is a native of Evergreen, Alabama. He is married to First Lady Pauline Simpson Moore of Greenville, Georgia and they have three children; Susan, Warren, and Paula and six lovely grandchildren Brianna, Milan, Alexis, Whitney, Kendall, and Mariah. Pastor Moore accepted his call to the Gospel Ministry and preached his initial sermon in June of 1968 at King Street Christian Church in Carrollton, Georgia. Then he relocated to Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1968 where he attended Winston Salem Bible College and upon graduation in 1972 he received his Ministerial Diploma. His first pastorship was at Lewis Street Church of Christ in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and in August of 1971 he became pastor of Mount Olive Christian Church in Concord, North Carolina until September 1974. In February 1976, Dr. Moore accepted the pastorship at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Axton, VA where he has been the distinguished pastor for 39 years.
In 1984, Pastor Moore enrolled in Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina and in May 1988 he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Religion from Shaw University. Dr. Moore is active in numerous community improvement and awareness organizations. He has served on the Drug Task Force in Martinsville-Henry County, Alliance for Excellence, and the Smith River Baptist Association. In 1994, under Dr. Moore's leadership the Concerned Citizens of Sandy Level developed to work collaboratively with state and local officials to bring improvements to the Sandy Level Community. In May of 2001 Dr. Moore earned his Doctorate in Theology from Shreveport Bible College in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Pastor Moore is a born again humble man with a big heart willing to share the good news about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
